Before you buy a laptop it's important that you read some of the reviews that are available on the Internet. You can get a pretty good idea whether a system fits your needs by reading these. There are several big sites dedicated to reviewing computer hardware, and several specifically aimed at notebooks. Most of these sites are run by people who know what a good notebook system consists of and show you how that specific system compares to other laptops. The links on this site are not a definitive guide to review sites, as there are many more - hundreds that we probably have not heard about. Besides review sites, we've included forums specializing in discussion about hardware and notebook-related issues in the list below. Again, these offer a wealth of information that could ease your quest for a good notebook!
NoteBook Review - This is probably the largest site that reviews laptops. There easy to use web site allows you to quickly compare systems. Several of their users have written about there experiences with their own notebooks. So if you want to share your own review then check out this site as well, remember that it might help other people by sharing your experience.
CNET - One of the biggest hardware sites on the web. CNET has been around for a long time and employ a professional staff that reviews hardware. They know what they're talking about, you'll notice as soon as you start reading a review. The video reviews is a nice feature that allows you to check out the notebook in detail.
NoteBook Review Forum - A separate section of notebookreview.com in which users can discuss their hardware, talk about the latest
notebook news and just have a good time. Some of the advice given in this forum is invaluable.
Notebook Forums - Although the name implies there are only forums at "Notebook Forums", this isn't accurate. The site features
multiple sections all aimed at providing you with information to make the best possible notebook purchase. Of course, if you already have
a notebook and have questions about it's components this is a useful place as well.
PC World - Anyone who knows a bit about computers knows PC World. It's one of the bigger PC magazines. You don't need to subscribe
to get the information you need from their site though. They have a review section amongst their other pages. Check it out.
Laptop Logic - A good destination to read about the latest in the world of notebooks. What is hot? When is this new model released? Laptop Logic has plenty of information on their site with regards to laptops and laptop-related hardware.
NoteBookReviews.net - They don't have a lot of reviews on there yet, but it's growing and the information is organized for easy viewing.
A nice little feature of this site is the gallery section which allows you to view a bunch of laptop photos, with their model types included in the description.
PC Advisor - Decent site about notebooks and related items. Reviews are a bit short but they get the point across clearly. Their review
sections covers several big notebook brand names - you'll find your favourite one in there for sure.
Notebook Computer Reviews - Not a huge collection of notebooks on here, but the information is good and easy to view. The reviews
go from 2003 up to 2007, so includes several new models.
Some people I spoke to are worried about the objectivity of certain review sites. With some saying a few sites are clearly promoting
notebooks of companies that advertise on their site. There is nothing we can do about this, there has always been a slight bias in writing
reviews. We urge people to compare reviews and make up your own mind. Several sources of information can balance out information and
provide you with a more objective overview.
